Magic Spells Summary for Eternal Lands

As of 28 April 2008 server restart, your horoscope supplies a value that is added to your effective magic level in these calculations. It affects only spell power not whether you can cast the spell.

I will update this page with new formulas as I figure them out. Please let me know if you find an error or have omitted something important, useful, or interesting. Updated 2009 Jan 7 with formulas for Drain Mana, Heal Summoned, and Smite Summoned.

Heal Spell

Heals 10 points of damage to the caster.


Remote Heal Spell

Heals damage on the creature targetted by the spell. The amount varies by level of the caster and by the rationality of the caster and includes some random variation.

Poison Spell

Poisons the targetted creature. Poison damage occurs every 10 seconds. The amount of damage each time is based on the remaining duration of the poison. Damage occurs at some time within or at the end of each 10 second interval.

Life Drain Spell

Material points (health) are drained from the target creature and used to heal the caster. The amount varies by level of the caster and the rationalities of the caster and target. This chart reflects the changes made in December 2007.

Chart corrected 28 Apr 2008 - I had miscopied the formula as level/3 where it should have been level/4. I believe it is now correct.

Drain Mana Spell

Ethereal points (mana) are drained from the target creature and used to restore the caster's mana. The amount varies by level of the caster and the rationalities of the caster and the target and includes some random variation. The amount is capped by the amount it takes to get your mana to full but you can take more than the target has remaining.
