The Mercenaries

Welcome to the home page of The Mercenaries, a guild in Eternal Lands. The Mercenaries is a small band with various skills not limited to fighting.

Eternal Lands

Eternal Lands is an online MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). It is free to play (although some in-game items and character races can be purchased) and the client software is free (and is open source). The client download supports Linux, FreeBSD, Macintosh, and Windows. The game is 3-dimensional and requires a 3-D graphics card with OpenGL support. There are various skills that can be learned and improve with practice. Fightable opponents include a selection of animals, monsters, and (on certain maps) other player characters. Most items in the game can be harvested, mined, or manufactured by players. Player-to-player communication includes local chat, channels (some with dedicated purposes and the rest free for any use), personal messages, and guild messages. Other features include special days (when the game play is different than normal), monster invasions (some are automated and some are scripted and run by admins), and instance maps (where a group of players can work together to clear a map of monsters).
